Vega Tilt Switch

Digital Tilt Switch For Static Levelling And Safety Alarm Applications

ARN-TSW is a dual-axis, industrial grade accelerometer based tilt switch that can be used for static levelling and safety alarm applications. TSW is designed for automotive & industrial applications. The TSW employs MEMS accelerometers for gravity level sensing. It uses advanced statistical filtering algorithms and digital signal processing to deliver inclination data about longitudinal (X) and lateral (Y) axis over RS232/422 ports.

TSW has low noise industrial grade accelerometer with low temperature dependence which makes it an ideal choice for OEM applications. The output is available at configurable data rates. The device is suitable for solar tracking, man-lift, safety load indication, robotics, marine and other static or non-accelerating platform applications.

Tower Crane Safety Monitoring

TS2D

Tower cranes are used in the construction work for transportation of load at higher altitude vertically as well as horizontally. This load consists of the construction material and sometimes site workers also. Due to its high-altitude operation, it always requires precision in operation during the load transit period and at the delivery of the load to avoid the accidents. The inclination/tilt angle is an important parameter which gives the operator a clear visual indication about the operational safety.

Tilt sensors installed on a tower crane can provide real-time tilt information of the angle to the operator to make necessary decision during the operation. Aeron’s VEGA family’s tilt sensor TSW is a dual axis tilt sensor which enables operator to sense inclination in two axes. TSW’s fast response time and accurate data helps user to get a real-time information of the tilt angles of the installed site for controlling and operating within the operational limits.

Dynamic Tilt Switch for Dumper trucks/Forklifts

TSW G

Dumper trucks or tipper trucks  are commonly used in construction and mining industry. While these beasts of burden are the backbone of the industry and very dependable, they are prone to accidents and can be very unsafe especially if they are overloaded and if the tipper is being operated while standing on an incline such as an elevated road or a hill which can be quite common in mining areas. The tipper hydraulics generally have a safety cut off switch which works on measurement of the angle between the chassis and the tipper body. The issue of operating on an incline is thus not being handled by the traditional means as it measures the vehicle tray angle with respect to the vehicle platform and ignores the elevation of the road. The right approach would be to measure the incline with respect to true horizontal and cut off the hydraulics based on load and incline angle.

Aeron’s VEGA family’s Tilt Switch ARN-TSW-G (Tilt Switch) provides a means to measure the true inclination and provides safety indication and safety cut off switch to the user. ARN-TSW-G has a configurable threshold angle (limit angle) setting feature which can be used to set the threshold angle as per the application requirement. ARN-TSW-G has built-in 3 axis MEMS accelerometer and 3 axis gyroscopes providing gyro-compensated tilt angles. It comes with built in relays to give the switching outputs to the solenoid actuators of the vehicle hydraulics. ARN-TSW-G measure the absolute tilt angle to avoid elevated road conditions.

Most of the tilt switches available in the market are based on accelerometers only. This limits the tilt sensing device performance in dynamic conditions.  ARN-TSW-G provides gyro-compensated tilt angle output making it suitable for dynamic and high vibration operating conditions.

ARN-TSW-G’s absolute tilt angle measurements, its rugged automotive grade design and suitable outputs makes it an ideal choice for similar applications like cranes, forklifts, man lifts, loaders for safely applications.

Vega Tilt Switch With Gyro

Digital Tilt Switch For Static/Dynamic Levelling And Safety Alarm Applications

The TSWG is a dual-axis, compact and robust industrial grade tilt switch with gyroscope, that is insensitive to vibration and can sustain harsh environments as off road vehicles, heavy equipment and construction equipment. TSWG focuses primarily on industrial and automotive domain applications. TSWG employ MEMS accelerometers for gravity level sensing and tri-axial gyroscope for angle measurement in vibrating or dynamic conditions.

TSWG has a high speed 32-bit processor architecture that runs advanced statistical filtering algorithm for estimating X and Y angles in dynamic conditions. TSWG has integrated relays for switching output, and can be made to operate when the user configured threshold angle is exceeded. TSWG has a fast update rate of up to 20 Hz. It is a solid state, high reliability sensor ideal for OEM applications.

The TSWG is factory calibrated over the entire temperature range. VEGA TSWG supports both static as well as dynamic applications such as heavy equipment, dumper trucks, cranes, scissor lifts and for platforms with severe vibrating environments.
