PrecisionInertialMeasurement

Factory-calibrated MEMS accelerometer and gyroscope modules for guidance, navigation, and control applications.

Tactical-Grade MEMS Sensor Modules

Aeron's Castor family of Inertial Measurement Units delivers control-grade inertial sensor data for platforms that need reliable, factory-calibrated acceleration and angular-rate measurement — not a full navigation solution. Each module combines high-performance triaxial MEMS sensors with a high-speed onboard processor running digital signal processing and calibration algorithms, so every unit ships characterized and compensated for bias, misalignment, scale-factor error, and temperature drift.

The family spans a full 6DOF accelerometer + gyroscope + inclinometer module (IMU 1100), a dedicated gyroscope-only module for angular-rate-only applications (GYR 1200), and an OEM PCB-mounted 6DOF module built for high-speed SPI integration (IMU 1640) — giving system integrators the right sensor grade and interface for guidance, navigation, and control computers, robotics, gimbal stabilization, and unmanned ground and aerial platforms.

How Every Castor Module Works

IMU 1100, GYR 1200, and IMU 1640 all run the same onboard calibration and signal-processing approach — only the sensor suite and interface change between them.

Engineered for Control-Grade Precision

Nine core capabilities shared across the Castor IMU family.

High-End Tactical Gyro Performance
High-End Tactical Gyro Performance

Gyro bias instability as low as 0.6°/hr (typ.) across the family, with thermal compensation and good turn-on to turn-on repeatability.

Digital Software Filtering
Digital Software Filtering

Configurable digital filters with programmable taps, tuned for the best performance in each application.

Fully Calibrated Over Temperature
Fully Calibrated Over Temperature

Every sensor is factory calibrated for misalignment, offsets, and scale-factor errors, and temperature compensated across its full operating range.

High Shock & Vibration Survival
High Shock & Vibration Survival

Qualified for shock survival up to 1500 g (MIL-STD-883F), suitable for high-dynamics platforms like quadcopters and ground vehicles.

Continuous Self-Diagnostics
Continuous Self-Diagnostics

Built-in continuous monitoring of onboard temperature, voltages, and sensor health, alerting integrators to issues in real time.

High Update Rate
High Update Rate

Update rates from 2000 Hz (RS422 modules) up to 4250 Hz on the SPI-based IMU 1640, with configurable bandwidth per application.

Low Supply Voltage Options
Low Supply Voltage Options

RS422 modules run from a single 4.5–5.5 V DC supply; the SPI OEM module runs from 3–3.6 V DC — easy to power from low-voltage battery systems.

Low Noise Sensors
Low Noise Sensors

Low-noise, highly stable accelerometer and gyroscope sensors deliver consistent, high-performance sensor data across the family.

Flexible Communication
Flexible Communication

Standalone modules communicate over RS422; the OEM IMU 1640 integrates directly via a high-speed digital SPI interface for PCB-mount designs.

Why Choose Aeron

Why Choose Aeron

Aeron Systems focuses on innovation and high-precision engineering, prioritising sovereign control over critical technologies. Every Castor module is characterized and calibrated in-house for bias, misalignment, and temperature drift, then screened to military environmental and shock standards — so integrators get consistent, control-grade sensor data unit after unit, whether it's mounted standalone or built directly onto a customer's PCB.
